Dr. Ryan Nielsen is board certified by The American Board of Radiology. He graduated magna cum laude from Pacific University (Forest Grove, OR) in 1991. He attended the Creighton University School of Medicine (Omaha, NE), from which he graduated magna cm laude in 1995, and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. He did an internship in Internal Medicine at Creighton University/St. Joseph’s Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Nielsen’s residency training was in Diagnostic Radiology at Duke University Medical Center (Durham, NC), which he completed in 2000. As a resident, he received the Award for Excellence in Neuroradiology, the Resident Teaching Award, and served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Nielsen’s areas of specific professional interest and expertise include treatment of venous disorders, arteriography, treatment of acute stroke, vertebroplasty, pain management, aortic stent graft placement, vascular and dialysis access.

He is a member of the American College of Phlebology (ACP), Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA), Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA), American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS).
